BLIND DATE

____________

“Dinner in the Dark” in partnership with Rotary Club of Makati Century City

With the Rotary Club and the James Mackay foundation working side by side, not only do we bring the “light of Hope” the “light of equality”, we can bring them permanent employment and equal status in society, where they can live their dreams, where hopes are realities.

Do you ever wonder what it feels like to eat in total darkness? With your eyes blindfolded and the only way to move properly is with the help and guidance of someone? Well, that’s what the guests from the last Blind Date had felt.

August 21, 2018. The fourth Blind Date was held in the City Club, Alphaland in Makati. Unlike any Dinner in the Dark held by the foundation, the guests of Blind Date 4 are businessmen and professionals from the Rotary Club of Makati Century City. Aside from raising awareness of blindness and how we can send help to the disabled. This Blind Date’s purpose is to make them experience how our visually impaired brothers and sisters tread positively in life despite their lack of sense of sight.

Also, this event cemented the friendship between the James MacKay Foundation Inc. and the Rotary Club of Makati Century City (RCMCC) in supporting the students of the Philippine National School for the Blind. The RCMCC has decided to help the Foundation in building a 2-story Training Center which is designed to be a safe haven for the students of the PNSB and other kids with impairments and a place where they can further train their skills and talents.

The event was a huge success. It has touched the hearts of many of our guests and showed that together we can support and make a huge impact to people with disabilities. In the end, Blind Date also teaches us to be grateful and be contented to what we have and to share our blessings to those who are in need.
